Steep Sports: Gameplay, Opinion of Critics and Development

Developed by Ubisoft Annecy and published by Ubisoft, Steep ign ps4 is a sports video game. On December 2, 2016 this game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

It was Ubisoft Annecy’s first original game developed by it at the beginning of 2013. Several winter and extreme sports disciplines, namely skiing, snowboarding, paragliding, and wingsuit flying are participated by players in the Alps where the game is set. Rocket-powered wingsuit flying, sledding, base jumping, and speed riding were incorporated as additional sports and new mountains of Alaska, Japan, and Korea were also included in the game, with later downloadable content. The players were allowed to take part in the Winter X Games and the 2018 Winter Olympics after the furthermore expansion of two of these games. Focusing on competing in various winter sporting challenges with other players online, the game places a great emphasis on online multiplayer.

Reviews from critics

The game received some mixed reviews after its release. The critics also pointed out its lack of direction and overall scope including the fact that being online was mandatory to play most of the game other than that the overall graphics along with the vast open world and enjoyable activities were lauded over.

Centered on the Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain in Europe, which can be explored freely by players as the game is set in an open world environment of the Alps. The tallest mountain in North America, as well as Japanese and Korean mountain ranges, were also added in the game as the later downloadable content. In Pyeongchang County, the ventures of the 2018 Winter Olympics is featured by Korea. From either a first-person or third-person perspective the game can be played. Via a sponsoring deal, camera angles similar to GoPro during races are also utilized by the game. Skiing, wingsuit flying, snowboarding, and paragliding are included in the game as the four main activities. Rocket-powered wingsuit flying, sledding, base jumping, and speed riding were also incorporated with later DLC. By using the game’s menu wheel players can switch between these activities.
