Reliance Jio abolishes IUC charges, free calls to all networks from Jan 1, 2021

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) announced that Jio is back offering free voice calls to any network. RJIL has finally withdrawal Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC). Now Jio users now won’t need to worry about IUC minutes while having off-net calls. Initially, IUC minutes was introduced in late 2019 due to the Honorable Supreme court verdict on Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR). TRAI announced the implementation of the ‘Bill and Keep’ rule in India from January 1, 2021. This will end IUC for all domestic voice calls in the country.

Commitment to revert off-net domestic voice-call charges to zero, as soon as TRAI removes IUC charge, Jio users will be again able to make all off-net calls free, from 1st January 2021. On-net domestic voice calls have always been no cost on the Jio network, the company said.

Jio said that, In September 2019 when TRAI changed the timeline for execution of the Bill and Keep rule past 1st January 2020. The company was left with no option of giving free voice calls and was being forced to charge for off-net calls. Jio had assured their user that the company will charge the IUC minutes till the time TRAI abolished IUC charges. Today Jio has delivered its promise to the user.

On the Eve of New Year 2021 , Jio is introducing unlimited voice call and unlimited data balance for Jio user. The Rs.129, Jio recharge plan is offering 1GB data / day and unlimited domestic voice call to all network for 28 days. Also, Jio recharge plan with Rs. 149 offers 1G
